CROWNS

A dental crown is a shell that a dentist places on top of an implant to create a new tooth or increase the volume and strength. Doing so can restore a chipped tooth, improve a bite, and replace a decayed filling.
Dental crowns are long-lasting and look natural to resemble your own and offer strength and durability. There are different types of crowns, including copper, gold or porcelain. Your dentist will advise which is best for you.

DENTAL IMPLANTS

Dental implants are unquestionably the best way to replace a missing tooth. They make it possible to eat, speak and smile with complete confidence. Implants are the only tooth replacement option that prevents the jawbone from wasting away and the facial structures from collapsing.
An implant replaces the entire tooth structure, from its root to its crown, without relying on the surrounding teeth for strength or support. The surgery places a titanium post in the jawbone, becoming part of the bone’s anatomy. After the healing process, it is mounted with a connector piece called an abutment. A beautiful artificial tooth customized to match the adjacent teeth is then attached to the abutment piece.

HOW LONG IS THE IMPLANT PROCESS?

On average, the process of placing and restoring a dental implant takes approximately 3 to 6 months.
The implant post is first placed surgically in the jawbone. The procedure involves creating a small opening in the jawbone beneath the gap left by the missing tooth. The dentist places a titanium post or screw in the bone, and the bone grows around the screw to form a stable base for the tooth replacement. This process is called osseointegration, and it usually takes three to four months. A dentist put temporary tooth replacement during this time, so the patient does not need to go without a tooth. The temporary tooth replacement also allows the gum tissue to grow around the post properly.

While the post is healing, a dental laboratory constructs the permanent artificial tooth. It is customized to match the natural teeth, ideally in shape, size and colour.

Once the implant post has completely fused to the jawbone, the dentist temporarily removes tooth replacement and attaches the permanent tooth to the top of the post. The patient may ask for final adjustments for perfect fit or feel.

PARTIAL DENTURES

Partial dentures are an excellent method for obtaining a natural-looking smile. If you have gaps in your smile due to missing teeth, then a new partial denture may be the solution you require. A great benefit of a denture is that it is removable. Additionally, it is made of a synthetic material that replicates your natural teeth and gums. This placement results in a beautiful smile that preserves your existing teeth’ natural bone structure and integrity.
